Volunteering in Argentina
Would you like to get to know Argentina and its social reality at first hand and support social organisations or NGOs? Or do your studies have a social focus and you want to put your theoretical knowledge into action? Then, our volunteering program is just the right thing for you!

Which Areas?

You can do your volunteer work in a great variety of areas. Some examples are: social work (addiction, poverty), education (street kids, disabled people, orphanages), cultural work, environmental protection as well as human rights. Thanks to the many years of experience and our very individual search we are able to say that, up to now, we have satisfied our clients’ specific requests in 95 percent of the cases!

How long?Volunteering in Argentina 1
We suggest a minimum of 4 weeks. In order to get completely integrated into your volunteering environment, longer periods are advisable. This way, you will be able to experience deeper insights into the institution’s activities as well as into Argentine social reality in general. In the areas of social work and education, longer periods are often necessary in order to establish a relationship of trust between the volunteer and the people receiving help.
Even though we suggest a minimum length of 4 weeks, shorter periods can be organized in certain cases.
Just ask us, and we’ll see what we can do!
Which Cities?

Be it the energetic and multi-faceted capital Buenos Aires, the laid-back university town of Córdoba, the fine wines in Mendoza or the proximity to the indigenous culture in Salta. Whatever suits you best, in any of these four cities we can find you a voluntary work according to your personal requests.
More information about the cities.

No Spanish yet?
Volunteering in Argentina 2Even without any previous language skills you can apply for any voluntary work and learn the language on site in an intensive language course before starting your job. Our language courses – thanks to very small groups and excellent teachers – will soon get you ready for your voluntary work experience. Many students arrive without speaking a word of Spanish and leave Argentina speaking it fluently!

When to Start?
You can start your voluntary work basically at any time of the year. However, it is not advisable to start work in January, since this is the national month for vacation and many institutions close down or work notably less.
All activities in the areas of education and culture are related to the academic year that begins in March and ends at Christmas. Many institutions in this area are therefore closed between Christmas and February. If you plan to start your voluntary work at the beginning of the year, we recommend you to start around the beginning of March and/or use January and February for your Spanish course or for travelling. However, if it is necessary for you to start in February, we’ll do our best to find an institution that doesn’t close during the summer.
Your first work day will usually be a Monday.
How long does it take?
Volunteering in Argentina 3Organizing a volunteer work usually takes 6-8 weeks. In urgent cases it can be faster, in the case of very specific requests it might take longer.
Please note that January (and partly February) are the national months for vacation and many institutions and companies remain closed. For this reason, our search activities also slow down significantly or may even have to stop during this time.

Certificate
At the end of your voluntary work you will receive a certificate by your institution, certifying the length and content of your volunteer job. If you need a description or certificate about your voluntary work beforehand (e.g. to hand it in for acceptance of your university), just let us know!

Vacation
Argentine voluntary work places generally do not include vacations. However, if you plan a break during your work in order to have some time to travel, just include this request in your application; in certain cases, we will be able to make this kind of arrangement.
Most of the interns travel at the end of their work experience. If the period of your internship includes January/February, the national months for vacation, many institutions will suspend work in this time. Just like most of the Argentines, you might as well use these months to do some travelling in between.
